My name is Pam Hahn and I have lived in Slave Lake with my family since 2004. I married my best friend, Dave in 1995 and together we raised one son and two daughters. Working with children, adults and families has been a constant since I was sixteen years old. My vocation has evolved from a swimming instructor, to a St. John Ambulance Instructor, and a certified teacher, which I intentionally put to use as a home school mom for eight years. Along the way, I also shared my talents with other families as a home education teacher facilitator, school librarian and community volunteer. Helping others is what I do best and what I truly enjoy.
As my family matures, I have the opportunity to share my experience as a three time unmedicated labour/birther and breastfeeding parent, my knowledge as a doula, my aptitude for educating, and my passion for serving families in our community. I pursued my long held interest in birth beginning in 2016. In April and May 2018, I earned my Childbirth Educator and Lactation Educator certifications. Since then I have added the internationally recognized Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and DONA Certified Birth Doula designations. In 2019, I undertook postpartum doula training with Newborn Mothers, and babywearing instruction with CBWS to enhance birth services to clients.
It is an honour each time I partner with a woman and her support team, building on one another’s natural strengths, to welcome a new child. Supporting and educating women and their families to have their best birth experience is my business.
